I beat Prince of Persia about a week ago and I'm just getting to the review right now so............. yeah.
Prince of Persia is a great game, the story is pretty good, and the voice acting is both horrible and great at the same time. The story follows the nameless Prince, who got stuck in a sand storm while looking for his ass... I mean donkey. He finds shelter in a canyon, which is also the tutorial area for the game. Right after the first cutscene you meet Elika, who is the princess of the kingdom you are in. About 10 minutes after this, the main villain, whose name I can't remember, is released from a tree. Darkness spreads everywhere, blah blah blah, you need to get rid of it.
There are a few flaws, the biggest being that the game pretty much plays itself. I did a 3 minute segment where all I did was tap Y/triangle every once in a while. Another flaw is that after you've healed a zone, you need to go through it again to collect energy, which is used to buy Elika's powers with. These segments aren't optional, so half the game is spent backtracking.
On a lighter note, the graphics are amazing, using some of the best cel-shading I've seen. Also, the one-on-one combat is a good idea, but you're forced to rely on Elika too much. The ending is amazing, and I can't wait for the sequel.
Overall, I give this game
8.5 / 10
